You Should Never Do This One Thing After A Bikini Wax

Chloe Scriminger, Head Trainer at Ministry of Waxing, London revealed that one thing that should not be done after getting a bikini wax done. Chloe, the 31-year-old from Hertfordshire, who has been working in the beauty industry for over 12 years, and is now serving as the Head Trainer at Ministry of Waxing, which has five salons all across London, reveals the secret.
She said, “Most people don’t understand the aftercare of waxing, and it’s essential. After you’ve had a bikini wax, it takes at least eight hours for the hair follicles to close. If you go to the gym during that time bacteria, caused by perspiration, can get into the open hair follicles and cause a reaction called folliculitis.”

This what Chloe has to say about bikini wax and what should not be done.

What is Folliculitis?

Have you ever noticed the big red bumps that form a rare disorder on your skin? The one where each bump involves a hair follicle?
Folliculitis is an inflammatory situation affecting hair follicles. It appears as a small red tender bump occasionally surmounted with dots of pus surrounding a hair and its origin.

According to the doctors and even Chloe, folliculitis causes a lot of small, painful spots to form right where the hair grows out of the skin. Most cases of the folliculitis go away with time and maybe unpleasant but not dangerous while others turn into bumps that leave marks. Deeper effects may result in scarring or even permanent hair loss.

Chloe says it is best to wait for 24- 48 hours before hitting the gym.

She adds, “To help speed up the healing process, you can even use cooling pads or ice packs or even aloe vera gel on the area to reduce swelling.”
She further said, “As soon as you’ve had your wax done, remove your underwear and put on loose, cotton trousers. This will help your skin to breathe and the hair follicles to close.”

You should also avoid taking a shower especially a hot shower after getting your wax done.

This is advised because using soaps, perfumed soaps and body washes irritate skin.

There are certain things to keep in mind before injuring yourself after a bikini wax or even when it is done.

If not taken care of your pubic area while getting a wax done, you may end up injuring or bruising yourself.
If your pubic area goes red or bumpy, try using a soothing serum or even a cold serum to get rid of all the red bumps and sores.

Chloe further added, “The general public doesn’t know how to wax, and they shouldn’t even try doing it at home.”

But if you are determined to try doing it all on your own, make sure the wax is not too cold, and you should not use strip wax. Sugaring or peelable wax might be the best fit for you.
Also, if you are looking forward to using microwavable wax make sure you know which temperature suits you. It tends to get very hot sometimes.
